Memorial Service for Allen Dale Elwood, 80 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Cross Community Church in Poteau, Oklahoma with Reverend Jason Waymire.
Allen Dale Elwood was born on August 14, 1941 in Lodi, California to Alda Belle Peg and Howard Melford and passed away on March 30, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Erolinda (Martinez) Elwood on August 4, 1978 in Lake Tahoe, California. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Elwood; sons, Mike Elwood and wife Jamie, Fred Jennings and wife Shelley, Mitchell Jennings and wife Charlotte, Rob Ochoa and wife Sharon, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Allen will be fondly remembered for his sharp sense of humor, love and care for others and faith of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed country music, Western movies and camping. He had a great love of history and family.
We know he is setting up a reunion party to welcome us all to our Heavenly Home someday. Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful ones."
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at the Grace Funeral Service in Poteau, Oklahoma.
