Celebration of Life for Anita Eyvonne Duchat, 84 of Shady Point, Oklahoma will be at 10:00am on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Grace Memorial Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Larry Matthiesen officiating. Private burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau, Oklahoma. There will be no viewing or visitation held prior to the funeral services.
Anita was born on December 11, 1938 in Ovalo, Texas and passed away on June 12, 2023 in Shady Point, Oklahoma, married to Butch Duchat on July 2, 1960 in Arlington, Virginia. She was preceded in death by Opal Middlebrooks, DJ Middlebrooks, and Jack Chastain.
Survivors include her husband; Butch Duchat, daughters, Valerie Shinn and husband Sam, Kelly Ann Reed and husband Keith, Cissy Bruton and husband Rick, sister; Ruth Ann Imre, brother; Willie Don MIddlebrooks and wife Linda Sue, grandchildren; Marlena Mainzer and husband Shelby, Ryan Wann and wife Ashley, Kelly Gist and wife Britney, Kyle Reed, Kristopher Reed, Katelynn Norris and husband Hunter, Hannah Brown and husband Jacob; great grandchildren, Riley Wann, Brooklyn Wann, Reid Lawrence, Blakley Hunt, Collins Mainzer,Cole Gist, Caroline Gist, Brylee Hoodenpyle, Taylor Hoodenpyle, Carter Lou Norris, Gracelynn Opal Brown, and Madalynn Ann Brown, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Gist, Shelby Mainzer, Kyle Reed, Hunter Norris, Jacob Brown, Riley Wann, and Reid Lawrence. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chief Warrant Officer Ryan Wann and Captain Kristopher Reed.
Those attending the service are encouraged to wear blue, in Anita's favorite color.
