Obituary

Obituary for
Barbara J. Vickers
Barbara J. Vickers, 89, of Wister, Ok, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family during the afternoon of Friday, April 15, 2016, in Wister, OK. Born on Feb. 4, 1927 near Clear Lake, OK to Jack and Anna Lee (McClure) Deaton,
Barbara attended Howe schools. There she met the love of her life Claudie Vickers. They enjoyed fishing as well as cooking for all family and friends who loved to eat fish. She loved working in her yard, watching any kind of sports on TV, playing cards and Wahoo with her great-grand children, and especially giving orders. God only knows what else we've missed we're waiting to find out. Because an obituary is just the first, rough draft of a life story.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 58 years Claudie Vickers; parents; Stepmother Martha Deaton; two brothers Charles Deaton and Jackie Deaton; three sisters Stella Keown, JoAnn Jackson, and Wanda Smedley.
She leaves behind her son Ron Vickers and Susie of McAlester, Ok; three daughters, Anna Duncan of Heavener, Ok, Pam Powers and Dave Roberts of Ponca City, Ok, Nancy Billings and Gary of Poteau, Ok; three sisters Faye and Carl Flemister of Boca Raton, Fl, Jimmie Nelson of Palm Springs, Ca, Patsy Steele of Anaheim, Ca.; seven grandchildren Khristi and Greg Flanagan, Kim Duncan, Ryan Vickers and Shelly Rapoport, Brock and Joanna Powers, Chelsea and Javier Cervantes, Kendra and Tommy Bailey, Rayven Billings; fifteen great grandchildren; Her very special friends Sue Shipman and Pat Hamby, as well as a host of other family members and friends.
A special thank you to Advantage Hospice Nurses, Workers and staff.
