Bertha Jewel BJ Henry, 85, Poteau, OK, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Bertha was born March 5, 1927 in Stillwell, OK, to Noah and Evia Moss. BJ enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, hunting, fishing, brush hogging, and her cat, Tasha and dog, Oscar Meyer. Most of all she loved her kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and one sister.
Bertha is survived by four children, Virginia (Sue) and husband Carroll Carpenter of Cameron, OK, Ann Hill and long time friend Cody Hill of Poteau, OK, Linda Poteet and husband Richard of Panama, OK, Daniel Miller and wife Donna of Poteau, OK; one sister Norene Asbell and husband Ron of Roseville, CA; seven grandchildren, Donna Duncan and husband Greg of Cameron, OK, Kelli Ford and husband Michael of Poteau, Tim Miller and wife Michelle of Fayetteville, AR, Tiffany Latham and husband Randall of Poteau, OK, Tearney Miller of Fayetteville, AR, Chris Stewart and wife Nichelle of Shady Point, OK and Lyndal Stewart of Poteau, OK; nine great grandchildren, Sarah Diaz and husband Abraham of Durant, OK, Kate Duncan of Cameron, OK, Jason Ford and Kody Ford both of Poteau, OK, Sean Miller of Poteau, OK, Jeffrey Miller and Kasen Miller both of Fayetteville, AR, Madison Latham and Brooklyn Latham both of Poteau, OK; two great great grandchildren, Kriston Stewart and Eztil (Elli) Diaz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Miller, Lyndal Stewart, Jason Ford, Michael Ford, Greg Duncan and Cody Hill.
Graveside service will be held at 9:00 AM, Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK, with Wayne Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 14, at the funeral home. Interment will follow service at Greenhill Cemetery.
