A memorial service for William Joseph Harris, 80 of Cameron, Oklahoma will be at 11:30am on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Cross Community Church in Poteau, Oklahoma. Cremation is under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Bill was born on November 25, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee to Mary (Butler) and Richard Gerry and passed away on April 17, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Paulette Harris on May 23, 1987 in Poteau, Oklahoma whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard D. Gerry; parents; Paul and Mary Balentine; and brother-in-law, Jim Duran. William was fun lovin, hard living great man. Sometimes he was lovin and sometimes he was grumpy that was usually when he wasn't catching more fish than you! He loved sitting round the campfire with family. Loved hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Most of all he loved a good meal.
Survivors include his sisters, Judy K. Dixon and Mary E. Duran; brothers, Arthur B. Gerry and Frank Scott; daughters, Laura Torrance and husband Mark, Shelly Pedersen; sons, Brian Larson, William Paul Harris, Jon Sloan, Ron Sloan, Jared Sloan; ; grandchildren, Logan Bewley, Sadie Sloan, Clayton Sloan, Logan Sloan, Toby Roath, Jayla Smith, Brody Martin; great grandchildren, River Sloan, Wren Smith, Jax, Charlie Ivy Roath, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
