Billy Ray Perceful
Billy Ray Perceful, 60, of Poteau, OK, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, in Fort Smith, AR. He was born March 8, 1956, at Troy, OH to Pauline Bowden. He graduated from CASC in 1976 with an Associates of Science Degree, 1979 Oklahoma City University Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1982 from University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. He was licensed to practice Law in all Oklahoma State courts and administrative agencies, Oklahoma Federal Court, Arkansas Federal Court, and The United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Some of his awards include Tribune of Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, Arkansas Law School Deans Honor Roll, LeFlore County, Oklahoma, Law Day Chairman, Oklahoma Bar Association Pro Bono Lawyer of the year-1999, Adjunct College Professor of the year-1999, President of Port City Optimist Club-1997.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include, daughter Brooke Elizabeth Collier Perceful and son-in-law Brandon Dale of Portland, OR, two brothers, Chuck, and wife Jackie Bailey of Bokoshe, OK and Dr. Glen Bailey of Missoula, MT, a grandson John Sterling Perceful-Dale of Portland, OR, and most valued legal assistant Ronda Smith, of Ft. Smith, AR, as well as a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Bailey, Dr. Glen Bailey, Brandon Dale, Dr. Jim Dunn, Mark Mixon, Brian Hilts and Mark Hilts.
Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at First Christian Church, Poteau OK, with Pastor Gary Vancil officiating. Interment will follow service at Old Bokoshe Cemetery, Bokoshe, OK. Viewing will be Wednesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.
