Carolyn Donithan

Carolyn May Donithan of Spiro, Oklahoma was born on December 21, 1946 in Rushville, Illinois to Richard Carl and Violet May (Harn) Lashbrook. She passed away on August 17, 2026 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 79.

She is survived by:

Four daughters:  Donna Newland and Tom of Springfield, Missouri; Vickie Donithan of Spiro, Oklahoma; Charmin Minor of Okemah, Oklahoma; Trudy Mills and husband Rod of Howe, Oklahoma

One son:  Donald Donithan, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Indiana

One sister:  Mary Root of Rushville, Illinois

One brother:  Richard Lashbrook and Steve of Springfield, Illinois

16 grandchildren

Numerous great‑grandchildren

Numerous other loved ones and a host of friends

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Violet Lashbrook; her husband, Donald Eugene Donithan (08/14/1943 - 06/04/2026); and one brother, Bud Lashbrook.

Carolyn was a longtime resident of the area and a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant. Carolyn married the love of her life and late husband, Donald Eugene Donithan on December 16, 1964 and now they are together again. She found joy in crafting and had a passion for collecting unique rocks. Family was the centerpiece of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Carolyn had a remarkable talent for nurturing plants, showcasing her green thumb in her beautiful garden. While she will be profoundly missed, her spirit and memories will remain with us forever.
