Charles Edward Newman
Charles Edward Newman, 55, of Shady Point, OK, passed away August 21, 2010. He was born February 19, 1955, in El Monte, CA, to James Edward and Nancy Ellen (Sweeten) Newman. Charles married Patricia Elmore on October 26, 1978, in Shady Point, OK. He loved to watch car races and westerns.
Charles was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, James Jim Newman and Richard Newman.
Charles is survived by his wife Patricia Newman of the home; two sons D.J. Medina Jr. of Shady Point, OK, Charles and wife Angela Newman of Shady Point, OK; two daughters, Samantha Taylor and Mark Jiminez of Panama, OK, Pearl Jackson and Steve Evans of Poteau, OK; two brothers Danny Newman of Fort Smith, AR, Joe and wife Rose Newman of Fort Smith, AR; three sisters, Maryland Long of Woodward, OK, Diane Newman of Fort Smith, AR, Sue Smith of Central City, AR; six grandchildren, Anthony, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, Kyle, Ashtan and Nicholas; as well as other family, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Chris Long, Charley Long, Clinton Long, Willy Long, Anthony Jiminez,Aaron Smith and Artie Smith.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel in Poteau, OK, with Rev. Bill Krantz officiating. Interment will follow service at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK. Family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 23, 2010, at the funeral home.
