Clara Christine Standifer, 82, of Howe, OK, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, in her home. She was born August 17, 1926, in Tuskahoma, OK, to William Moses and Emma Georgia (Mays) Denton. She married Paul Hugh Standifer on September 26, 1942 in New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, a daughter Betty Leigh, four brothers and three sisters.
Clara is survived by two sons, Jerry Standifer and wife Nancy of Howe, OK and Marvin Standifer and wife Mary of Spring Creek, NV; four daughters, Alice Banville and husband Marc of Redding, CA, Shirley George and husband Steve of Byars, OK, Gail Turner and husband Jeff of Lafayette, OR, Linda Mooneyham of Pauls Valley, OK; twenty grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren, well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Southside Baptist Church, Poteau, OK, with Rev. Monty Thompson officiating.
