Dana Charlotte
Lee
Feb 24, 1943 — Sep 23, 2017
Obit for
Dana Charlotte Lee
Dana Charlotte Lee, 74, of Poteau, OK, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 in her home. Dana was born February 24, 1943 in Mineral Wells, TX. She was preceded in death by both her parents, Viola and George Bennett.
Dana is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Lloyd Lee, her sons Larry and wife Diana Lee of Norman, OK and Brad Lee and fianc Jo Sherry, both of Lexington, KY, four grandchildren, Joshua Paul, Matthew Thomas, Maria Susanne and Nora Ruth all of Norman, Jos two sons that Dana claimed as her grandchildren, Alexander Lusk, who is now in the U.S. Army at Ft. Benning, GA and Mikhail Lusk of Loveland, OH.
Dana was a very faithful member of Poteau First United Methodist Church and was very active, especially as a mentor to young ladies in confirmation classes. She was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer on her birthday in 2012. This disease finally took her body, but it never ever took her spirit. She always had a smile and would almost always reply when she was asked how she was feeling with Just Pretty Good. Danas character was on display all the time by showing her love for God first, her love for others second, and thinking of herself was a very distant third.
Pallbearers will be Terry Warren, Jack Michael, Howard Cagle, John Perry, Mark McMillin, and Steve Clark.
Service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 10:00 a.m. at Poteau First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Perkin officiating. Interment will follow service at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please donate in Danas honor to Poteau First United Methodist Building Fund, 109 S. Harper, Poteau, OK 74953 or Gideons Memorial Bible Fund, P.O. Box 691, Poteau, OK 74953. Grace Manor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
