Donald W. Parker
Donald W. Parker, age 62, of Poteau, OK, passed away on September 3, 2012, in Poteau. He was born May 11, 1950 at Oklahoma City, OK, to Bennie Franklin and Wilma Lafaye (Blaylock) Parker. He was a graduate of Poteau High School, a veteran of the U.S.M.C. where he served in Viet Nam, a lifetime member of DAV and retired from the production department at Bremner.
He is preceded in death by his father Bennie F. Parker and his only son Bryan Lee Parker.
Don is survived by his mother Wilma Parker of Poteau; twin sister and husband Ann and Billy Phillips of Owasso, OK; brother and wife Bruce and Brenda Parker of Poteau; nephew and wife Brooks and Dana Parker; great nieces, Skye and Sophie Parker; life long best friend Taylor Newby; companion Freckles his dog; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Pastor Keith Williams officiating. Interment of ashes will be private at Oakland Cemetery. Cremation services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
