Dortha Faye Pound
Dortha Pound, 84, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016, in Pocola, OK. She was born February 21, 1932, at Spiro, OK, to Albert and Lena (Bain) Carter. She was foremost a homemaker, she also had real estate license and had drove a school bus.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother Marvin Carter and sister Judine Tackett.
Survivors include two sons, Jack McLaughlin and wife Susie of Sallisaw, OK and Ronnie Pound and wife Kay of Poteau, OK; three daughters, Zula and husband Jonathan Clark, Gloria McCartney, and Sherrie Pound all of Poteau, OK; four brothers, Dan Carter of Pocola, OK, Fred Carter, Robert Carter and Larry Carter all of Spiro, OK; four sisters, Lorine Seahorn and Mary Lou Craig both of Spiro, OK, Flossie Celine of Cameron, OK and Juanita Crow of Arkoma, OK; twelve grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Gabe McLaughlin, Scott Clark, Ashby Clark, Kaegan Clark, Garrett Clark and Doug Clark.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Cross Community Church, Poteau, OK, with Pastor Bryan Fields officiating. Interment will follow service at the Fairview Cemetery, Panama, OK. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau, Ok. Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. You may offer condolence to the family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening.
