Douglas Earl Ellis
Douglas Earl Ellis, 83, of Pocola, OK, passed away March 13, 2014, in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born September 20, 1930 in Redfield, AR, to Harrison Earl and Addie Jewell (Sowell) Ellis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, a contract home builder and brick mason.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Jewel Mae (Brown) Ellis.
Douglas is survived by two sons Chester and wife Melinda Ellis of Rudy, AR, Tim and wife Jimmie Ellis of Ft. Smith, AR; daughter Rebecca Sides of Ft. Smith, AR; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; as well as numerous other friends, family and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Cheston Ellis, Dylan Elkins, Shawn Ellis, Nathan Sanders, Clifton Jones and Dustin Goss.
Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Pastor Donald Cummings officiating. Interment will follow the service at 1:30 p.m. at Dustin Cemetery in Dustin, OK. Viewing Monday, March 17; family will visit from 6 to 8 p.m. in the evening.
