Everett B. Morris, 71, of Cameron, OK, passed away July 22, 2010, in Cameron, OK. He was born in Rock Island, OK, on November 9, 1938, to Thomas Edward and Elva (Shelley) Morris. He was an established businessman operating two rock quarries, a poultry farm and cattle ranches. Everett was an ordained minister for the Oklahoma District of Pentecostal Church of God and was currently serving as a Presbyter in section eleven for the Oklahoma District. He pastored the Solid Rock Pentecostal Church of God, Panama, and has pastored many churches over the last fifty years and made numerous mission trips to various foreign countries. He had a heart to help everyone and especially loved and cared for all of the people of this area and his church family. Everett loved fishing and hunting and in the last few years had the opportunity to enjoy deep sea fishing in Florida, elk hunting in Colorado and loved spending time at his cabin in Broken Bow. He also loved to garden and took much pleasure in tending his garden and supplying vegetables to friends and family he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Corrine Miller.
Everett is survived by his wife Jan of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Janie Morris of Monroe, OK; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia Cindy Farrar of Cameron, OK, and Deena and Tim Mays of Van Buren, AR; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Alice Morris of Cameron, OK, Johnny and Barbara Morris of Stigler, OK; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Hack Johnson of Wagner, OK, Mary and Bob Daniel of Roland, OK, Velma and Charley Tehee of Peggs, OK, Juanita and Dale Newberry of Fayetteville, AR; three granddaughters, two grandsons in law; three grandsons; four great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Joe Morris, Tommy Joice, Frank Morris, Dwight Miller, David Eslinger and Yul Eslinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Morris, Anthony Morris, Gary Miller, Mike Tehee, all of the men of Solid Rock Pentecostal Church of God and all of the ministers in the Oklahoma District of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Solid Rock Pentecostal Church of God, Panama, OK, with the Rev. Leon McDowell and Rev. Jeff Pierce officiating. Interment will follow service at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK. Family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 25, 2010. Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau will be conducting the services.
