Everett James Morris of Broken Bow, Oklahoma was born August 14, 1968 in Stockton, California to Everett and Virginia (Pratt) Morris, and passed away August 14, 2019 in Galveston, Texas at the age of 51.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Morris of the home; a daughter Candice and Luis Benitez of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; a son Tyler Morris of Sulphur, Oklahoma; sisters Cindy Farrar of Cameron, Oklahoma and Pam Gregory and Glenn Gregory of Mountainburg, Arkansas; grandchildren , Janaya Benitez of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Moises Benitez of Hawaii; his step-father, Inocencio Zaleta; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
James was proceeded in death by his parents. James served in the Army National Guard and later went to active duty. He served his country during the Panama Operation Just Cause. In later years he felt the call to ministry. He did missions to Belize, Guatemala, and El Salvador. He loved to play the guitar and enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Grace Memorial Chapel in Poteau, OK with Rev. Clyde Hess officiating. Interment will follow services at the Greenhill Cemetery. Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family will greet friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Services are under the direction of Grace Funeral Service Poteau, OK.
