Ezra J. Thornburg, 80, of Wister, OK, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born January 4, 1935, at Fanshawe, OK, to Lester and Dora Ola (Rash) Thornburg. He was a diesel mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great granddaughter Jerran Dorrell; two brothers Joseph and George Thornburg; three sisters, Wilma Perry, Ruth Baker and Mable Thornburg.
Ezra is survived by three children; Wesley Thornburg and wife Naye' of Mexico, Rosezenia Collins and husband Maurice of Hartshorne, OK and Deena Standfast and husband John of Newalla, OK; brother Paul Thornburg of AR; five sisters, his twin sister Esther Richie, and Lois Jozens both of CA, Martha Galbraith of OK, Zillah McFerran and Bertha Baker both of AR; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Corey Thornburg, Caleb Collins, Shawn Standfast, David Baker, Rodney Duncan and Jason Thornburg..
Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK. Interment will follow service at Hicks Chapel Cemetery, Fanshawe, OK. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
