Flora Thornburg of Spiro, OK passed from her life her on earth on Saturday, January 27, 2019 in Spiro, OK at the age of 87. Flora was born to Jeff and Dora Farley Hickman on August 18, 1931 in LeFlore, OK.
Flora was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Hubert, her parents and one sister.
Flora was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She absolutely loved working in her flower beds which was obvious when you looked a them. She spent many hours on her Family Genealogy both the Hickman and Thornburg sides. She also enjoyed spending time attending the many functions of her native tribe the Choctaws.
Flora is survived by her children and their spouses; daughter Linda and Charles Reeves of Zoe, OK; two sons, Leonard and Kathy Jo Thornburg of Heavener, OK and Frank and Dana Thornburg of McAlester, OK, ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and twenty nine great great grandchildren; her two sisters, Stella Thornburg of Wister, OK and her twin sister Dora Hansen of Poteau, OK and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Leon Thornburg, Bobby Thornburg, Donnie Padilla, Jeremie Thornburg, James Thornburg and Rick Deshazo.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro, OK with Bro Matthew Sebo Officiating. Burial will follow services at Spiro City Cemetery in Spiro. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
