Floyd Earl Davis
Floyd Earl Davis, 84, of Shady Point, OK, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in Fort Smith, AR. He was born March 26, 1932,in Poteau, OK, to Harmon Floyd and Callie Roberta Davis. He was a veteran of the United States Army and practiced more than 50 years as a local barber in Shady Point. He enjoyed the relationships he had with his customers. He was a musician and loved playing music. He played the bass guitar and was learning to play the steel guitar. He enjoyed working on his farm and caring for his cattle.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Aubrey Davis and James Davis, five sisters, Athlene Bunce, Ruby Webb, Neda Odom, Geneva Yeo, and Katie Cantrell.
Floyd is survived by his wife Beverly Davis of Shady Point, OK, daughter Roberta Heath and son-in-law Rev. Jesse Heath of Edmond, OK, granddaughters Ellanah Jackson of Enid, OK, Elleah Heath, Ellisah Heath, and Savanna Heath all of Edmond, OK, and his great granddaughter Raven Lily Jackson of Enid, OK, a sister Vida Davis Curry of Barling, AR, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gene Christenberry, Jerry Womack, Wimp Webb, Eddie Davis, Keith Davis and Rick Anderson.
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Victory Worship Center, Spiro OK, with Pastor Bryan Fouts and Rev. Jesse Heath officiating. Interment will follow service at Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK. Viewing will be Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
