Gerald Dee Wilson 77, of Poteau, Oklahoma, passed away August 29, 2014 in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born September 23, 1936 in Red Oak, Oklahoma to James Howard and Bertha Lucille (Montgomery) Wilson. He was retired from Whirlpool Corporation with thirty plus years of service. Gerald was known to be a wheeler dealer when it came to trading automobiles.
Gerald is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children Cleo Wilson; two daughters, Laura Wilson and Joyce Mirus; four brothers James Wilson, Leonard Wilson, Joe Wilson and Bob Wilson
Gerald is survived by his wife Joyce Wilson of Cove, AR; children Karen Aary, Linda DeWitt and Robert Dean Dewitt all of Pocola, OK; a brother Jack Wilson of Blanchard, OK; a sister Debbie Bryant of Red Oak, OK; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren with two more on the way; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Rick Ryburn, Corey Morrow, Marcus Mirus, Howard Blankenship, Darrell Mirus, Kyle Cooper, Jerry Reynolds, and Ronnie Adams.
Service will be Wednesday Sept. 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Step of Faith Church with Bro. Leon Glenn and Pastor Troy Glenn officiating.
