Hannah Marguerite (Barnes) Primm
Hannah Primm 83, of Alma, AR, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Van Buren, AR. She was born October 8, 1932, at McCurtain, OK to Ira and Annie May (Fielding) Barnes.
Hannah was a true Proverbs 31 woman. She loved her family and made a comfortable home for them. Her support and encouragement for her children was unending. Not only was she faithful to her church but she also shared her gift of singing with her church family. In addition to her own children, Hannah cared for children in her home. She was an insurance agent where she was a co-owner of an agency with her husband. However, it was first graders that stole a piece of her heart. She worked as an aide for seven years at Paris Elementary before retiring.
Proceeding her in death were her parents; her beloved husband of 61 years, Holton D Primm; and a sister Ruth Massara.
Survivors include a son Jeffrey Franklin Primm and wife Karen of Greenwood AR; a daughter Leigh Ann Sumner and husband Gary of Mulberry, AR; grandchildren Rachael Presson, Megan White, Dane Sumner, Jordan Primm and Allison Primm; great grandchildren; Annie, Torrie, Adrianna, Taryn and Jackson; a sister Shirley Roberts of Houston TX; a niece Susan Massara of OKC, OK ; a nephew John Massara of Fort Worth, TX; a sister-in-law Mary Lou Rogers of OKC, OK, as well other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Primm, Dane Sumner, Sean Gammon, Jody Presson, David White and Gary Sumner.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Haven Heights Baptist Church in Ft. Smith, AR with Dr. Steve Young officiating. Interment will follow service at 12:00 noon at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau, Ok. You may leave an on-line greeting to the family at www.gracemanorfh.com
