Harris Clayton Gerhardson, 82, of Heavener, OK, passed away October 23, 2015 in Talihina, OK. He was born July 25, 1933, in Kandiyohi, Minnesota to Henry and Pearl (Peterson) Gerhardson. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Harris retired from KCS Railway where he was a diesel mechanic/welder. He received an achievement award for 30 plus years of service with KCS. He was a member of KCS Brotherhood of Maintenance and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Heavener.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Evelyn Sue Gerhardson, a daughter Kimberly Sue Gerhardson, three brothers, Roger, Wayne and Dale Gerhardson.
Harris is survived by a daughter Dr. Ashley Gerhardson and husband Luke Crouch; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 27, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Pastor Sam Dyer officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, AR. Family will greet friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
