Haskell Nobles

Haskell Nobles, 90, of Poteau, OK passed away August 19, 2015 in Poteau. He was born March 9, 1925 at Conser, OK to John W. and Dovie (Roberts) Nobles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a building contractor, a rancher, and also worked in the oil fields for Mobil Oil.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of sixty two years, Irene Nobles; seven siblings, Charley Nobles, Hansel Nobles, Lorena Means, Irene Herrin, Paskell Nobles, Floyd Nobles and John Loyd Nobles.

Haskell is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rick Nobles and Katherine Conrad of Pleasanton, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Howard Cagle of Poteau, OK; four grandchildren, Carey and Amy Cagle of Poteau, OK, Cara and Matt Yakel of Oklahoma City, OK, Peter Nobles of Eureka, CA, and Claire Nobles of Pleasanton, CA; six great grandchildren, Dominic Springwater, Hunter Springwater, Rowan Cagle, Keagan Yakel, Kate Yakel and Caleb Yakel; four siblings, Betty Thomas of Heavener, OK, Cherree Cowan of Mesquite, TX, Herbert Nobles of Fort Worth, TX and Imogene Peebles of Tucson, AZ; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Poteau, OK, with The Rev. Phil McGehee officiating. Interment will follow service at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau OK. The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
