Helen Pendleton
Helen Pendleton, 90, of Wister, OK, passed away March 1, 2014, in Poteau. She was born November 5, 1923 in Port Arthur, TX, to Henry Quellar and Maria (Jaurequi) Martinez. She was a retired C.N.A. and cashier.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Gene Pendleton; a son Joseph Ascencio; and a sister Sara Anaya.
She was survived by two daughters Myra Pendleton of Poteau and Anita Bailey of Wister, OK; two sons Richard Ascencio of Wahiawa, HI and Charles Ascencio of Munster, IN; a sisters Evangeline Richardson of Monterey, CA; two brothers Larry Martinez of Chicago, ILL and Henry Martinez of CO; many grand and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many more family members, friends and loved ones.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK, with Bro. Don Martin officiating. Interment will follow service at Ellis Chapel Cemetery. Viewing until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
