Hendon R. Smith, Jr., 73, of Poteau, OK, passed away February 1, 2011, in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born March 11, 1937, in Louisville, KY, to Hendon R. Sr. and Martha (Cheatham) Smith. Hendon was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired purchasing agent for Reynolds and Reynolds Corp. and was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Teresa (Tillis) Smith and two sisters Jean Pendergrass and Libby Lou Lampshire.
Hendon is survived by a son Thomas Wayne Smith of Plant City, FL; two daughters Vicki Sue Schoch and husband, Michael, of Plant City, FL, and Catherine Meredith and husband, Donald, of Poteau, OK; four grandchildren, Shana Mendelson, Samantha, Thomas and Jarod Meredith; as well as numerous other family members, friends and loved ones.
