Obituary for
Imogene Jean F. (Nichols) Bass
Jean Bass, 89, of Poteau, OK, passed away, January 22, 2013, in Poteau. She was born April 7, 1923, in Poteau, OK, to Austin and Cleo V. (Collins) Nichols. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo Bass; a grandson Jeff Davis; four brothers, Johnny Durant, Carl Durant, ODell Nichols and Walter Noah Durant; and a sister Pearl Bost.
Jean is survived by three sons Gary Bass and wife Jane of Poteau, OK, Larry Bass of Shady Point, OK and Roy Perkins of Poteau, OK; a daughters Joyce and husband Leonard Davis of Poteau, OK; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren ; two sisters, Carolyn Baca of Poteau and Mildred Huddleston of OKC, OK; three brothers, Paul Nichols and Charles Durant of Poteau, OK and Bobby Nichols of Heavener, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Conner Oliver, Colby Oliver, Caleb Oliver, Chad Davis, Lorne Bass, Billy W. Perkins and Lance Bates
Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 25, 2013, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Bro. Jeff Little officiating. Interment will follow service at the Vaughn Cemetery, Poteau, OK. You may offer condolences to the family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
