Jack A. Davis
Jack Davis, 76, of Talihina, OK, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, in Talihina. He was born January 7, 1937, in San Diego, CA, to Clark and Jewell Davis. He married Debra Ann Shilling on January 12, 1980. Jack retired from J & B Plumbing Supply Co. of Ft. Smith, AR, in 1999. He was of Southern Baptist faith, a member of Prairie Grove Baptist Church, formerly a member at Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Ft. Smith, AR and Whitesboro Baptist Church in Whitesboro, OK.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law Christine Southard Ramsey; uncle-in-law Gene Southard; aunts-in-law Lois Battles Southard, Ruby Southard Landi and Beatrice Southard Cates, two cousins, Walter (PeeWee) Morgan and Karen Cates Hull Strunk; and very special friend Nan Carter Williams.
He is survived by his wife Debra Davis of the home; father-in-law Jim Ramsey of Talihina; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rev. Charles and Charlene Shilling of Anadarko, OK; a nephew C.J. Shilling and family of Indianapolis, IN; a niece Robin Grimes and family of Ft. Worth, TX; four adopted daughters, Michelle Green, Novella Guinn, Misty Daniels and Dona Hotella; and a host of other family friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Rod Green, Dale Green, Don Southard, Charley Southard, Jackie Lewis, Shermon Southard, George Dowell and Kenny Ramsey.
Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Prairie Grove Baptist Church, Talihina, OK, with Bro. Jeff Little, Bro. Cliff Graditt and Bro. Cecil Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow at Whitesboro Cemetery, Whitesboro, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau.
