James J. Crenshaw, 89, of Shady Point, OK, passed away January 25, 2011. He was born October 13, 1921, in, Rock Island, OK, to Robert and Eller (Goins) Crenshaw. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a carpenter by trade. James married Alma Pearl Keffer on January 29, 1946 in Ft. Smith, AR.
James was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 61 years, a brother Lewis Crenshaw, and five sisters, Hazel Carson, Doreen Harrison, Margie Roberts, Sadie Pippin and Gladys Petrey.
He is survived by his beloved Sissy Dog; a son Jimmy Crenshaw and wife Brandy of Shady Point, OK; two sisters, Phyllis Lowery and husband Rayford of Pocola and Cindy Carson and Robert Lann of Shady Point, OK; three brothers, Ed Crenshaw of Tulsa, OK, Garvis Crenshaw of Antlers, OK, Calvin Petrey of Colorado Springs, Co; two sisters, Ione Hammons of Poteau, OK and Freda Riley of Winnepool, OK; ten grandchildren, Jim Bo, Tommy, Billy, Toby, Waylon, Amber, Bobbie, Lacey, Jami, Candice and Regina; twenty nine great grandchildren; as well as numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tommy, Billy, Toby, Waylon, Robert and Tommy Hammer.
Service will be held graveside at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Crenshaw Family Cemetery, Shady Point, OK, with Bro. Jeff Little officiating. Interment will follow service at Crenshaw Family Cemetery. Open viewing will be from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 28, 2011, at the funeral home. Services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, Oklahoma.
