Jane Roberts
Jane Ruzel Roberts, 61, of Poteau, OK, passed away July 24, 2010, in Fort Smith, AR. She was born December 31, 1948, in Albion, OK, to Cephas and Edith (Whitson) Roberts. Jane was a woman of many talents and was much diversified in her endeavors. She previously owned a furniture store in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, she taught math at Tulsa, Sallisaw and Poteau High Schools, she worked for City Service Petroleum while working on her PHD in Petroleum Engineering, and she was CLEET Certified and served as a Reserve Sheriffs Deputy for LeFlore County. Jane was a member of the Poteau Church of Christ.
Jane is survived by two brothers, John and wife Liz Roberts of Ada, OK, Willard and wife Ann of Tuskahoma, OK; four sisters, Bea Welch of Buffalo Valley, OK, Jo Ann and husband Don Kirkes of Talihina, OK, Elene and husband Frank Schield of Norman, OK, Patricia and husband Glenn Stripling of Heavener, OK; thirteen nieces and nephews, Jonathan Stripling, Daniel Stripling, Ben Schield, Kimberly Baughman, Brian Kirkes, Cephalene Pierce, Sammy Roberts, Julie Roberts, Lamon Roberts, Toni Roberts, John Mark Roberts, Shane Roberts, Febrena Welch; as well as a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Don Kirkes, Brian Kirkes, Frank Schield, Ben Schield, Glenn Stripling, Jonathan Stripling and Daniel Stripling, Shawn Pierce, Bee Baughman.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Poteau Church of Christ, Poteau, OK, on Highway 112, with Brother Don Cherry and Brother Gene McCuistion officiating. Interment will follow service at Albion Cemetery, Albion, OK. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
