Jewell Mae Ellis, 81, of Pocola, OK, passed away November 4, 2011, in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born February 20, 1930, to William Barker and Rosetta (Harris) Brown. Jewell May Brown married Douglas Earl Ellis on February 6, 1951, in Ada, OK. She was a homemaker.

Jewell was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and one sister
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Douglas Earl Ellis of the home; two sons and daughter in laws, Chester Ellis and wife Melinda of Rudy, AR and Tim Ellis and wife Jimmie of Fort Smith, AR; daughter Rebecca Sides of Fort Smith, AR; brother Kenneth Brown of Sallisaw, OK; six sisters Zelvern Pinkston of Henyretta, OK, Aftin Jones of Bokoshe, OK, Aretha Brown of Pocola, OK Geneva Evans and Janice Sharp of Ceres, CA and Emma Smith of Sallisaw, OK nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren as well as numerous other family friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will Be Cheston Ellis, Dylan Elkins, Shawn Ellis, Nathan Sanders, Richard Lockwood and Dustin Goss.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau OK, with Pastor Gary Brown. officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM, Monday, November 7, at Fairview Cemetery, Dustin, OK. Services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends Sunday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
