James Archie Jim Miller

James Archie Jim Miller, of Poteau, OK, passed away August 3, 2014, in Poteau. He was born September 16, 1927 in Carter, OK to Ray and Ida (Hill) Miller. Jim was a World War II veteran of Search & Rescue stationed in New Foundland, a broiler and cattle farmer for OK farms and a retired Oil Field Consultant.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Ray & Ida Miller, brother Bun Miller and sister Melba Martin, and wife and loving companion Mary "Betty" Heavener-Miller.
He is survived by four daughters, Carrie Miller of Wister, OK, Ericka Miller Flores of Poteau, OK, Sandra Craine of Springdale, AR and Julie Heavener-Banuelos of Poteau four sons, David Heavener of Spiro, OK, Bobby Heavener of Howe, OK, Rick Miller of Holsom Valley, OK and Randy Miller of Wister, OK; a brother Joel Miller of Marlow, OK; a sister Wilma Smith of Midland, TX; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and numerous dear friends and relatives including Opal Miller, mother of his daughter Carrie Miller.
Pallbearers will be Salomon Banuelos, Raul Flores, Paul Wood, Bobby Heavener, Bobby Joe Heavener and Rick Miller.
Jim Miller will be greatly missed by his family and the friends he has left behind.

Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, with Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment will follow service at Oakland Cemetery. Viewing will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
