Joe Howard Rowan
Joe Rowan, 76, of Spiro, OK, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, in Spiro. He was born, November 14, 1939, at Spiro, OK, to Olen and Mildred (Johnson) Rowan. He was a retired maintenance mechanic.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son Joe Rowan Jr., two brothers James Rowan and Melvin Rowan, and a sister Martha Hanna.
Survivors include his wife Marla (Barnett) Rowan of Spiro, OK, son Cary Rowan and wife Pong of Grandview, Washington, daughter Marla Tina Sarokhanian and husband Hamlet of Coppell, TX, sister Betty Perry of Spiro, OK, two grandsons, Nicholas Sarokhanian and Stefan Sarokhanian, three great grandchildren, Marie, Eloise and Rosemary Sarokhanian; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hanna, Harold Garner, Ross Burnett, Randy Spradley, Nicholas Sarokhanian, and Stefan Sarokhanian.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at Murray Spur Freewill Baptist, Spiro, OK, with interment to follow service at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK, with Rev. Nathaniel Craig officiating. Viewing will be from noon to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Grace Manor Funeral Home in Spiro.
