John L. Jones, 81, of Poteau, OK, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Poteau. He was born January 23, 1936, at Jenny Lind, AR, to Barthwell and Alice (Robertson) Jones. He was a retired car dealer.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Lupe Jones, a son Glen David Jones, and a sister Dorothy Hartley.
Survivors include a daughter Lisa and husband Robert Covey of Wellston, OK, two sons, George and wife Janice Jones of Poteau and Don and wife Tammy Jones of Sallisaw, OK, a brother Harold Jones of Saint Michaels, AZ, a sister Velma Ferguson of Dodge City, KS, five grandchildren, Tara Mendiola, Todd Jones, Bradley Jones, Zachary Jones and Hannah Jones, four great grandchildren Kade and Kyler Mendiola and Kyah and Kaven Jones, as well as a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Old Bokoshe Cemetery, Bokoshe, OK with Pastor Jerry Copeland officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
