Lawrence (Sonny) Edward Daniels of Poteau, Oklahoma was born March 30, 1935, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Edward and Dora (Young) Daniels, and passed away December 27, 2020 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 85.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 67 Years, Ethel Christene Daniels; a son, Carl E. and Sheryl Daniels; a daughter Carolyn Daniels; grandchildren Shelly Dennis, Randal Dunn, Heather Woodall, Rachel Firestine, and Aaron Daniels; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister Mildred Keys and a host friends and loved ones.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Dora Daniels, a daughter Glenda Christene Swearengin, brothers Clyde Daniels, Floyd Daniels, and Carl L. Daniels, a sister Mary Morrow.
Lawrence (Sonny) Daniels pastored Gospel Tabernacle for 26 years (1991-2017) and then served as Senior Pastor. He was a faithful, loving and kind pastor and senior pastor. He also was a faithful, loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is well loved and will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Jack Hayes Jr, Rookey Hayes, Randal Dunn, Aaron Daniels, Kyle Dennis and Ethan Firestine.
Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Gospel Tabernacle Church in Poteau Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery Poteau, Oklahoma. Viewing will be 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday with the family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace Funeral Service Poteau, Oklahoma.
