Leon Barnes
Leon Barnes, 79, of Cameron, OK, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013, in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born, October 21, 1933, in Pocola, OK, to Cooper Minor and Ruby Kathryn (Martin) Barnes. He was a rancher and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pocola.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents; wife Linda (Cunningham) Barnes; daughter Vanessa Barnes; sister Linda Kathryn; two brothers, Travis Gene and Bobby Ray.
He is survived by three sons, Terry Barnes and Michael Barnes both of Cameron, OK and Craig Barnes of Pocola, OK; a brother Coy Allen Barnes of Pocola; six grandchildren, Clay, Aron, Carrie, Cody, Jason and Jana; eight great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Mike Barnes, Craig Barnes, Cody Barnes, Clay Barnes, Aron Barnes and Jason Barnes. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Barnes.
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, at the First Baptist Church, Pocola, OK, with Rev. Daniel Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home Poteau. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
