Mabel Lee Spears, 83, of Poteau, OK, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born Oct. 11, 1931, at Sallisaw, OK, to George and Daisy (Ransom) Hamilton. She was a teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Burl Herbert Spears; two brothers Earnest Hamilton and Melvin Hamilton; two sisters, Clara Pollard and Vernia Riley Albright.
Mabel is survived by two sons, Burl Spears Jr. and wife Denise of Poteau, OK, Jackie Wayne Spears and wife Candee of Chandler, AZ; a daughter Rita Angelone and husband Ron of Richmond, VA; nine grandchildren, Kevin Spears, Stephen Spears, Bryan Spears, Sabrina Dyer, Alisha Smedley, Gwen Sullivan, Catherine Montgomery, Tiffany Nasutovicz and Kristina Angelone; thirteen great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be David Riley, Jeremy Dyer, Vance Smedley, John Sullivan, Kevin Spears, Bryan Spears and Stephen Spears.
Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Cross Community Church, Immanuel Campus, Poteau, OK, with Bro. Dan Fisher officiating. Interment will follow service at Mountain Home Cemetery, (Beaver Mountain) Stigler, OK. Arrangements under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
