Maida Burton Curran
Maida Curran, 80, of Poteau, OK, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Poteau. She was born May 21, 1937, at North Conway, NH, to Jay B. and Celia Shaw. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired registered nurse.
Maida was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband James Curran of the home, two sons, Richard James Curran and Keith Aldon and wife Diana Curran both of Poteau, OK, two daughters, Deborah Ann Curran of Howe, OK and Carol Sue Phelps of Poteau, one brother Thomas Shaw of Grannis, AR, eight grandchildren, Katrisha Maile, Kimberly Hunt, Keith Aldon Curran II, Richard James Curran II, Chantelle Gray, Justin Curran, James B. Curran and Celia Wann, twenty-three great grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Pastor Monty Thompson officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Dustin Cemetery, Dustin, OK. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
