Marie Faye Hendrix, 90, of McCurtain, OK, passed away August 10, 2011, in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born July 30, 1921, in Bokoshe, OK, to Elisha Elbert and Clara Angeline (McCullar) Whitfield. She was a seamstress and housewife. Marie was a member of the McCurtain Eastern Star for thirty years, and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bokoshe for more than seventy years. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma and friend to everyone. Marie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Otto A. Hendrix, two brothers, Donald Whitfield and Leonard Whitefield
Surviving her is two sons and daughter-in-laws, Roger and Ruth Hendrix of Poteau, and Steve and Jeanne Hendrix of Bokoshe; a daughter Cheryl Hendrix of McCurtain; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Whitfield and wife Geneva of Porum, OK and Eugene Whitfield and wife Helen of Collinsville, OK; one sister Gay Blan and husband Ken of Claremore, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Larry Carver, John Phillips, J.D. Phillips, Charles Wells, R.C. Culwell and Pim Takersley. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul LeFlore, Jim Lyons, Gary Carver, Lance, Ryan, Aaron, Samantha, Sarah, Candice Hendrix, Kenny, Ricky and Jerry Blan, Keith, Kelley and Kris Whitfield, and Bradley Whitfield.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the First Baptist Church, Bokoshe, OK, with Bro. Jerry Turner officiating. Interment will follow service at Milton Cemetery, Bokoshe, OK. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, Oklahoma.
