Marla J. Rowan
Marla Rowan, 77, of Spiro, OK, fell asleep in the Lord, June 28, 2017, in Spiro. She was born, August 18, 1939, at Milton, OK, to Jim Barnett and Grace(May) Barnett. She was a loving wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Her life was devoted to serving God and the church. She was noted for designing the Spiro City Flag.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her beloved husband Joe Rowan and a son Joe Rowan Jr.
Survivors include a son Cary Rowan and wife Pong of Prosser, WA, daughter Marla Tina Sarokhanian and husband Hamlet of Coppell, TX, two grandsons, Nicholas Sarokhanian and Stefan Sarokhanian, four great grandchildren, Marie, Eloise, Rosemary, and Leo Sarokhanian; two sisters, Isma LeFlore of Broken Arrow, OK and Genetta McElhaney of Palermo, CA, a beloved sister-in-law Betty Perry of Spiro, OK, as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be James Barnett, Brock Burnett, Noah Hanna, John LeFlore, Stefan Sarokhanian and Larry Hanna III.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Murray Spur Freewill Baptist, Spiro, OK, with interment to follow service at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the Grace Manor Funeral Home in Spiro. The family will greet friends from 6:008:00 p.m. Friday.
