Marynelle Windham of Shady Point, Oklahoma (formerly of Heavener, Oklahoma) was born on September 3, 1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to John Raymond and Reba Hamsey (Dalton) Sykes and passed away August 19, 2025 in Shady Point, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

She is survived by:

One daughter:  Angie Olsen and husband Art of Shady Point, Oklahoma

One son:  Kevin Pennington and wife Laura of Booneville, Arkansas

One brother:  Koen Sykes of Kentucky

Eight grandchildren:  Addy Smith, William Smith, Kyle Green, Dylan Olsen, Rebekah Olsen, Zoey Olsen, Ava Olsen, and Sean Pennington

Three great-grandchildren:  Mike Nelson, Mason Smith, and Aeris Green

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters Marilyn Wyatt, Reba Steelman, Shirley Johnston, Celia Johnston, and Ida Sykes; and two brothers Raymond Sykes and Frankie Sykes.

Marynelle, a cherished member of the community for many years, dedicated her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Heavener Nursing Home. She found joy in spending time with her beloved family, engaging in spirited games of Bingo, and immersing herself in her favorite soap operas. A compassionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Marynelle's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew and loved her.
