Melvin Lee Smith of Poteau, Oklahoma was born January 13, 1944 in Mulberry, Arkansas to Steven and Edna (Burkhart) Smith and passed away July 19, 2020 in Poteau, Oklahoma at the age of 76.
Melvin is survived by his daughter; Shannon Claggett and husband Timothy, grandchildren; Shane Claggett, Samuel Smith, Daniel Smith, Nathaniel Smith, and Nicholle Smith, three sisters and a brother.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents Steven and Edna Smith and a son Von Smith. He owned Magic Mold and Engineering in Poteau and loved to play music, long drives and spending time with his family.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau.
