Modessa Simpson, 89, Shady Point, OK, passed away June 2, 2012, in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born March 19, 1923, at Cameron, OK, to Manuel and Lucy (Buttress) Pool. Modessa was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Delbert Simpson; twin daughters, Corina Stafford and Florina Leverett; three brothers, Garvin, Harvey and Loyell Pool; two sisters, Mamy Simpson and Lois Shaw; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son Virgil Edward Goines Jr.and wife Lynette of Santa Paula, California; two daughters and sons in law, Lavon and Ron Mullins and Greta and Bill Krantz all of Shady Point, OK; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Bro. Larry Harris and Bro. Bill Krantz officiating. Interment will follow service at Old Bokoshe Cemetery, Bokoshe, OK. The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
