Olen Eugene Faulkenberry, 86, Poteau, OK, went to be with his heavenly father on March 18, 2012, in Fort Smith, AR. He was born February 5, 1926, at Monroe, OK, to Clarence and Arla Faulkenberry. Olen Eugene Faulkenberry married Evie Lorene Roberts on February 5, 1944, at Midway, OK. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W. II and a retired insurance agent.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Dovie Midgley.
Olen is survived by his loving wife Evie of the home; one daughter Phyllis Robinson of Northwest, AR; two sons, Merle Faulkenberry of Little Rock, AR and C.L. Faulkenberry of Mountain City, GA; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Lee, Amanda, Danielle, Stephanie, Sommer, David and Jeffrey; nine great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
A private family burial will be held. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Bro. Clyde Steelman officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers a love offering be made to Bethel Baptist Church, P.O.
