Funeral Services for Phyllis Gayle Smith will be 2:00pm, Thursday October 7, 2021 at Fanshawe School burial will follow at Fanshawe Cemetery in Fanshawe, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Grace Funeral Service in Poteau, Oklahoma.
Phyllis was born August 28, 1946 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Paul and Bernie (Walts) Scroggins, and passed away October 2, 2021 in Fanshawe, Oklahoma at the age of 75. She married Gary Smith on December 7, 1963 in Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gary Smith; sons Gary Smith and wife Terri, Stanton Smith and wife Gail; grandchildren, Chad Smith, Chance Smith. Chase Smith, Chandler James, Abby Laymon, Jennifer Fluman, Eric Robertson; brother-in-law, Randall Smith and wife Eva; sister-in-law, Genice Smith; mother-in-law, Jane Smith Brown, eleven great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bernie Scroggins and daughter Nola Gayle Robertson and father-in law Harold Smith.
Pallbearers will be; Gary Smith, Stanton Smith, Chad Smith, Chase Smith, Eric Robertson, and Reedis James.
Viewing will be Tuesday October 5, 2021 from 12:00pm 7:00pm and Wednesday October 6, 2021 from 12:00pm 7:00pm with the family greeting friends from 5:00pm 7:00pm at the funeral home.
