Obituary For
Rev. R.M. Blackwood
Rev. R.M. Blackwood, 92, of Hodgen, OK, went home to Heaven Saturday, November 23, 2013. He was born September 5, 1921, at Pope County, Arkansas, to Cass G. and Ada (Jobe) Blackwood. He loved the Lord with all his heart. R.M. and Ouida were the first Chaplins for the Cedar Lake Horse Camp. He pastored churches in several different states and served in mission work. He received his theological degree from New Orleans Baptist Seminary and later served on their board. R.M. was also a veteran of the U.S. Army/Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children Ouida (Crutchfield)Blackwood; five brothers Bud, Robert, Hays, Dewey and J.D; five sisters, Ollie, Hazel, Ethel, Alice, and Gypsy; and one grandson Heath Sullivan.
R.M. is survived by his wife Edna Blackwood of Aptos, CA; three daughters, Barbara Gipson of Sallisaw, OK, Teresa and husband Larry DeVorak of Centerton, AR, and Karen and husband Rusty Sullivan of Hodgen, OK; three step sons Will Egbert of Aptos, CA, Terry Egbert of Santa Fe, NM and Robin Egbert of Aptos, CA; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Logen Gipson, Jeremy DeVorak, J.R. Sullivan, Robbie Gipson, Lance Faddis and Jarret Hetherington. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Faddis, Teri Hetherington, Landen Gipson, Taren Madding, Seth Morgan, Darrick Sullivan, Wes Sullivan, Reilly Sullivan, Cailyn Sullivan,Josie Sullivan, Luke Faddis, Sara Faddis, Hope Faddis, Emma Faddis, Hattie DeVorak, Tracie Gipson and Jami Sullivan.

Service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at the First Baptist Church,
Heavener, OK; with Bro. Paul Walker officiating. Interment will follow service at Sehorn Cemetery near Winfield, AR. In lieu flowers, R.M. requested that donations for missions be made to your church or First Baptist Church Heavener. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau, OK.
