Obit for
Richard E. Poteet
Richard Spud Poteet, 70, of, Panama, OK, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, in Fort Smith, AR. He was born June 26, 1946 in Lodi, CA to Orvel and Inez (Snooks) Poteet. He was a retired engineer and enjoyed the challenges of working on and with tractors and bulldozers and anything else that needed to be repaired. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, served in Viet Nam. He loved to sing and play his guitar, write songs and was a member of Victory Worship Center Church, Spiro, OK. He loved all the grandchildren and took them camping and boating whenever possible. He was also an excellent welder, plumber, carpenter, electrician, wood carver and he had an unfailing sense of humor which will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Erma Tiny Roza.
Survivors include his wife Linda, of the home; biological son Jason and wife Linda Poteet of Lodi, CA; beloved sons Chris and wife Amor Stewart of Shady Point, OK and Lyndal and wife Mandie Stewart of Poteau, OK; a sister Patricia and husband Delmer Ashcraft of Panama, OK; a brother Lester Butch Poteet of Pioneer, CA; twelve grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Royal Oak Cemetery, Poker Bend, OK. Grace Manor Funeral in charge of arrangements. You may leave an on-line greeting to the family at www.gracemanorfh.com
