Ruth Captiola Thompson
Ruth Captiola Thompson, 88, of Bokoshe, OK , passed away Friday, February 12, 2016, in Fort Smith, AR. She was born July 4, 1927, at Wilburton, OK, to Edward Dudley and Viola (Padgett) Bowling. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bokoshe First Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband Junun Thompson; parents; brothers Louis and Luther Bowling; and sisters Ruby Hunter and Mary Miller.
Survivors include a daughter Lisa Tackett and husband Charles of Bokoshe; grandchildren Jackie Gentry and husband Jason, Amy Tackett and Heath Herd, and Bethany Tackett; great grandchildren Sarah Gentry, Gracie Herd and Kaity Rae Beathard; sister Anna Boatwright of Carlsbad, New Mexico; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Steve Tackett, Jason Gentry, Heath Herd, Steve Hendrix, Bill Lafferty and Lary Carver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Lyons, Charles Wells and David Becker.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Bokoshe, OK with Bro. Wes Bates and Bro. Jerry Turner officiating. Interment will follow service at the Nubbin Ridge Cemetery, Bokoshe, OK. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau, Ok. Viewing will be Noon- 8 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday,. The Family will greet friends from 5-7 in the funeral home chapel.
