Sadie Rowena Pierce of Shady Point, Oklahoma was born February 9, 1941 in Olive Branch, Mississippi to Issac and Bertie Rowena (Darling) McInvale and passed away on August 3, 2026 in Shady Point, Oklahoma at the age of 85.
Sadie is survived by:
One daughter: Erica Lee Pierce and companion Monty Watts of Shady Point, Oklahoma
Four sons: David Pierce of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Steve Pierce and Katie Watters of Modesto, California; Eric Pierce and Tammy Fuller of Mulberry, Arkansas; Michael Pierce of Fort Collins, Colorado
11 grandchildren
6 great-grandchildren
Numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and a host of many friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac and Bertie McInvale; her husband, Earl Pierce; two brothers, Raymond McInvale and Andy Mumms; one sister, Jo McClure; a daughter-in-law, Kristina Pierce.
Sadie, a beloved member of the community, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. A cherished homemaker, she took great joy in her family, particularly her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Sadie's passions included playing Bingo, engaging in lively family game nights, and expressing her creativity through crocheting and canning. She had a fondness for David’s salsa, which brought her much delight. An avid admirer of cardinals and flowers, she found beauty in nature every day. Sadie will be profoundly missed by her family, who carry her memory in their hearts.
Sadie’s funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel with Mr. Larry Matthiesen officiating. Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Cremation Center of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday; and 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday at the funeral home.
