Samantha Burt, 86, of Poteau, OK, passed away February 15, 2011, in Poteau. She was born November 24, 1924, in Wister, OK, to Walter Cornelius and Sophia Maria (Slopman) Mitchell. She was a retired secretary.

Samantha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charley Burt, a son Charles Burt, brothers, Argus Meeks, Mutt Meeks, Douglas Mitchell, Buddy Mitchell and Dean Mitchell and a sister Mary Turner.
She is survived by a sister Betty Gedosh of Poteau; a nephew Danny and wife Susie Byous of Poteau; two nieces, Denver and wife AnnetteTurner of Poteau, LaDonna and husband Kenneth Kilgore of Alma, AR; great nieces, Misty and husband Jerry Collins and their children Dax and Danni, Lacy and husband Justin Downs and their children Wrigley and Champ, Podie Meets, Arlene Meeks, Bonnie Meeks, Claudine Meeks, Wayne Meeks, Yvonne Meeks, Patty and Rev. Larry Matthiesen, Brenda Presley, Sharlene Mitchell, Mona Mitchell, Dr. Leon Mitchell and Ronnie Mitchell; as well as numerous other family members, friends, and loved ones.
