Obituary for
Tristan Clayton Larue Austin
Tristan Clayton Larue Austin, 21, of Heavener, OK, formerly of Pocola, OK, was born March 13, 1993 at St. Edwards Hospital, Ft. Smith, AR and died June 6, 2014, at home in the loving arms of his sister, Ashley. He suffered a traumatic brain injury December 25, 2012. He was not expected to live past three days and we were blessed to have him for eighteen more months. He worked in maintenance at The Oaks Health Care and was enrolled in HVAC at Kiamichi Vo Tech prior to his truck wreck. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for Hodgen Fire Department. Tristan was a fighter and a survivor. He will never be forgotten. He touched many lives and we are all blessed to know him.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eunice Munday and Roger Rose; by his sister Charlena Charlee Austin; brother Trenton Austin; Uncles, Roger and Caleb Rose; and second mother Donna Ferdan.
Tristan is survived by his mother Lena Rose Burns; sisters, Ashley Austin, Miranda Filer, and Isabella Austin; brothers, Todd Austin Jr.; Uncle, Joshua Rose; close family friend who helped with care giving, Rachel Shipman; nieces, Whisper Austin and Lyric Scarborough; nephew August Scarborough. He is also survived by Todd Austin Sr.; paternal grandparents Maggie and Bill Austin; aunts, Maggie Austin and Beth Divsalar; and many more family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Todd Austin, Joshua Rose, Dakota Ferdan, Andrew Alexander, Raymond Rivera and Allen Goins. Honorary pallbearers will be Hodgen Fire Fighters, Stephen Johnson, Rachel Shipman, Taylor Jo Breashears, Derek Godfrey, James Frietas, David Spillers and Mercidas Ford.
Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June11, 2014, at the Heavener High School Auditorium, with Bro. David Hardin officiating. Interment will follow service at Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola, OK. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau. You may leave an on-line greeting to the family at www.gracemanorfh.com.
