Vida Jean Russell

Vida Jean Russell of Cameron, Oklahoma was born on November 27, 1937 in Cameron, Oklahoma to Jack and Lora (Hutchinson) Gaither and passed away on August 2, 2026 in Cameron, Oklahoma at the age of 88.

Vida is survived by:

One daughter:  Jennifer Davidson of Poteau, Oklahoma

Two sons:  Ronnie Fox and wife Rhonda of Cameron, Oklahoma; Stacy Fox and wife Mary of Greenwood, Arkansas

Her grandchildren:  James Bronson, Zachary Fox and Reagan, David Bronson, Chad Fox and Sarah, Abigail Perkins and Tyler, Amy Adams and Kendall, Micah Davidson, Dakota Davidson, Chelsea Clark and Jayson

Her great-grandchildren:  Kylar, Kynli, Kase Adams; Hudson and Holden Parker; Everlynn Perkins; Caden Fox and wife Libbi; and Caston Fox

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of many friends

Vida is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lora Gaither; a daughter, Cathy Fox; and a son-in-law, Michael Davidson.

Vida, a cherished member of our community, dedicated many years to healthcare and was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She had a passion for sewing and cooking, and found great joy in the company of her family and friends. Vida’s kind spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service to honor Vida’s life will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Greenhill Cemetery Pavillion in Cameron, Oklahoma.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral & Cremation Center in Poteau, Oklahoma.
